Biotin is often called Vitamin H or Vitamin B7. It works with the Vitamin B complex.

Description

Biotin helps produce energy from food stuffs. It is required for the synthesis of carbohydrates, proteins and fatty acids.

Deficiency symptoms

Deficiencies may be present in breast-fed babies. Long-term use of antibiotics may also cause levels to be depleted. Signs include dry greyish skin, hair loss, nausea, vomiting, muscle pain, a smooth tongue and fatigue.
